Global Nodes Meeting We have been very busy with the virtual Global Nodes Meeting held last week. This received interest and support from the broader nodes community, who were already starting to consider how we can take this work further beyond the pilot phase. Privacy policy and terms of service We have been following up with legal advisors to develop these and hope to have something ready to circulate to you all soon. You can track how we plan to implement the privacy policy in this issue<https://github.com/gbif/hosted-portals/issues/16>. First portals ready to launch We are working with the teams for the Pacific Biodiversity Information Portal<https://hp-sprep.gbif-staging.org/> and Natural History Museum Rotterdam<https://hp-nhm-rotterdam.gbif-staging.org/> to get ready to launch in the coming weeks. This will represent an important milestone in our pilot phase and we hope that many more of your portals will reach this stage in the coming months. New Zealand joining the group We received an expression of interest from the recently appointed New Zealand node to join the pilot phase, identifying this as the right time to try to expand national activity. This was approved and we are happy to have one more participant in the pilot phase! Lower capacity over the Copenhagen summer Many of us will be taking holidays over the Copenhagen summer months (July and early August) so please be prepared for slower response times in this period. Next call We would like to have our next call on our return from the holidays. Number of datasets, organisations and images to be found in a hosted portal

Dear all, for the entry page, I'm trying to create an overview of the data to be found in our portal (which is based on a network filter): number of occurrences, datasets, publishers and image, similar to the table you can see here: https://hp-theme.gbif-staging.org/. I managed to get the number of occurrences by using https://api.gbif.org/v1/occurrence/search?networkKey=3aee7756-565e-4dc5-b22…, but I failed for the number of datasets/publishers. Apparently the search request for datasets and institutions doesn't support the "network" parameter. And I'm completely lost for the number of multimedia documents provided for the occurrences - is there any API call for that? Thanks and Cheers, Jörg

Hi all, Thank you for the group call yesterday. The feedback is immensely useful to us. For those who couldn’t join yesterday we went around the “room” to hear out how things are progressing on each portal, identify issues/concerns and capture ideas. Help to use the documentation layout and the nice left menu

Dear all, I have been trying to use the documentation layout as seen at the base theme (https://hp-base-theme.gbif-staging.org/layout/documentation), it looks perfect for long and complex documents but I haven't been able to make it work. I do get the right navigation menu in this and any other layout using toc: true, but not the left navigation menu which is the most interesting feature of this theme. I tried to emulate the .md of the theme ( https://github.com/gbif/jekyll-hp-base-theme/edit/master/pages/layout/docum…) and played around with several options such as permatlink: , sidebar:, and bringing external docs with the option {% include_relative xxxx.md %} but It did not work. For the available examples, I think that probably the left navigation menu needs to be configured externally. How can I make proper use of the documentation layout? How can I configure the left navigation menu?
