Dear friends in Asia, As the end of 2024 is approaching, we want to thank you all for joining us regularly, occasionally, casually, surprisingly, friendly, and joyfully for the whole year. We’ve learned a lot from our discussions and appreciate your participation. We will suspend our weekly meet-up until opening the room again on the 9th of January in the new year. Please remember to join us. Also, we are holding a Virtual Data Mobilization Workshop in February for the first time in the last few years. We hope the timing is suitable for those who couldn’t participate during summertime. Dear friends of GBIF community, Following the first talk ‘An Introduction to the Global Registry of Scientific Collections (GRSciColl)’ on 14th November, the second talk we have for this Thursday (28 November) is entitled ‘Initiatives to the Global Representation of Scientific Collection’. This is also a part of the series presentations we made at the SPNHC-TDWG Conference 2024 in Okinawa earlier in September. After the introductory presentation on GRSciColl, this week, we will be talking about the efforts GBIF is making together with its regional support teams in improving the access to collection information mostly from the underrepresented regions.
