Hello GRSciColl friends,

I am writing to let you know that we need some input on the GRSciColl data schema.
As you might already know, one of the items on the GRSciColl 2023/2024 Road map is to review and simplify the GRSciColl schema as well as map it with Latimer Core. To facilitate this review process and collect input, we set up the following:

  * A news item<https://www.gbif.org/news/6QmgDWnOORMkZIG9xvZAD/community-review-of-data-schema-for-grscicoll-opens> to forward to anyone you think might be interested. It contains all the links to the other items in this list.
  * Some google forms to collect input:
     *   Collections<https://forms.gle/F4Skj3F3jJqoUqmM9>
     *   Institutions<https://forms.gle/phBMM285zuvJ5ehP7>
     *   Contact and identifiers<https://forms.gle/SGjqHynoHcxZEm9n6>
  * A Google set of sheets<https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DrBD8lCPhJQwXJs7R73sq9wvr6_2v2ee641RnbBjn3s/edit?usp=sharing> with an overview of all the GRSciColl fields and vocabularies as well as helpful information.
  * A forum thread<https://discourse.gbif.org/t/review-the-grscicoll-data-schema-and-first-community-call/4189> where people can make their questions public.

In addition to that, we have now a date for our first community call: the 29th of November 15:00 CET. You can register for the event here<https://www.gbif.org/event/686uY1fQAo8N8mb98Q2GEa/global-registry-of-scientific-collections-grscicoll-community-call>. This event will be an opportunity to discuss and work on the review.

You are very welcome to review as much of the schema as you like. You don’t have to give input on all the fields and vocabularies. Any help is appreciated!
Please send questions or feedback to scientific-collections at gbif.org<mailto:scientific-collections at gbif.org>.
All the best,
Marie
