Hi Patricia

Thanks for the feedback. Most of that info is readily retrievable from the project documents (although with variable specificity about the data in terms of taxa and location) and we can review how best to make it available to mentors, whether through enriched project pages or by other means. We'll discuss within the Secretariat and post an update on the list.

Dear all

I had a look at the selected projects here : http://www.gbif.org/programme/bid/all-projects?page=1

Would it be possible for the mentors to have in next future a bit more info for each selected project
Ie who is the main African contact person for each and other contacts
Which data is considered to be provided to GBIF (which taxon groups (at higher rank level) and in which locations in the countries/regions ?)
This would be very helpful.

Je suis Alain Jaures GBETOHO, Doctorant à la Faculté des Sciences Agronomiques (FSA) de l'Université d'Abomey-Calavi (UAC, République du Bénin), et assistant de recherche au Laboratoire des Sciences Forestières (LSF/FSA) dirigé par Professeur Jean Cossi GANGLO. Je suis aussi membre du GBIF Bénin.
Dans le cadre de cette formation, je représente le projet BID National intitulé "Capacity building and biodiversity data mobilization to address health and food security priorities in Benin". Au nombre des activités que je dois mener dans ce projet, il y a la mobilisation et la publication des données, la formation des partenaires à la mobilisation et la publication de données, la mise à jour de ces données et leurs utilisations pour atteindre les objectifs fixés par le projet. Je suis membre du Groupe Bleu sur place.
J'ai quelques expériences en mobilisation de données (avec au moins 25 mille données publiées sur le site du GBIF Bénin) que je souhaite améliorer sérieusement au cours de cet atelier. J'ai aussi fait du chemin avec l'utilisation de ces données pour la modélisation des niches écologiques des espèces et mes premiers manuscrits seront finalisés et publiés bientôt. Je pourrai partager l'une ou l'autre de ces expériences au cours de cet atelier.
