Dear all SPLICE advisory board members,
For the second meeting of the SPLICE advisory board, we will focus on the implementation of sequence search on GBIF.org as demonstrated by Thomas in our previous meeting. Sequence search is the first deliverable of the project. We may be able to share a link closer to the meeting date, so you will have time to test the feature yourself.
We are also excited to share two open calls that we hope you will share with your networks (both with a deadline of 3 August 2026):
* The first call is inviting organisations to develop or improve high-throughput publishing workflows for DNA-derived biodiversity data. Up to €20,000 per project is available. https://www.gbif.org/news/7guF70Z6tLLCXXt00cCHzB/call-for-proposals-buildin….
* The other call is about preparing reference databases for GBIF publication. Up to €10,000 per project is available https://www.gbif.org/news/32HzHqMJTZ9ya3Z8TmVLrE/call-for-proposals-prepari…. The aim here is wider exposure of reference databases, citation tracking, but also to make the reference database available for the continuous taxonomic reinterpretation that GBIF aim to develop
Kind regards
Thomas, Tobias, and Cecilie
