I just wanted to highlight that there are currently two open IPT issues related to making the IPT easier to install and upgrade:

1. Make IPT package for CentOS:
https://github.com/gbif/ipt/issues/1304

2. Distribute a standalone IPT with embedded jetty
https://github.com/gbif/ipt/issues/1303

Yes, that will work, but you will need to restart Tomcat for the IPTs to pick up the configuration.
