Dear friends of GBIF community,

Following the first talk ‘An Introduction to the Global Registry of Scientific Collections (GRSciColl)’ on 14th November, the second talk we have for this Thursday (28 November) is entitled ‘Initiatives to the Global Representation of Scientific Collection’. This is also a part of the series presentations we made at the SPNHC-TDWG Conference 2024 in Okinawa earlier in September.

After the introductory presentation on GRSciColl, this week, we will be talking about the efforts GBIF is making together with its regional support teams in improving the access to collection information mostly from the underrepresented regions. This is again useful for those of you who manage natural history collections and seek broader visibility for your museum/herbarium and wider data use for your collection information.
