Hi all,

I am very happy to let you know that GBIF have been granted a free license for CrowdIn as we qualify for their criteria as an open source endeavour.  I propose we continue with the project we set up as a test “ALA Internationalization” which is no longer blocked.

As we present the internationalisation aspects of the project, please include an acknowledgement to CrowdIn in slides / tweets etc. CrowdIn have also kindly offered to provide helpdesk should we have any questions.

Many thanks,
Tim

Thanks both

I’ve just submitted a request for a free license https://crowdin.com/page/open-source-project-setup-request

I’ll let you know how it goes.

Cheers,
Tim

Hi,

I also think that this tool is very useful. Would be great if we can use this tool to work in our translations.

Regards.

Thanks Miguel

It might also be worth some people exploring alternatives which I am sure exist - I just tried the first one I saw.
CrowdIn costs around US $29 per month [1] for this size of project so we want to be sure that it is does support our needs and will be used before signing up - we’ll create an account if people confirm that it is the preferred service to use (and have tested it does work).

Cheers,
Tim

Hi all,

Tim suggested us to try crowdin to translate the properties file to
Spanish and I can say I'm quite satisfied with it and the chance of
unifying criteria with other Spanish speaking countries.

What do you think about adopting it as the tool of choice?

Best,
Miguel
